Project Hail Mary – Review

project hail mary scene

I finally got to watch Project Hail Mary! After waiting over a month for it to hit streaming, it is finally here on Amazon Prime Video. This was an amazing and heartwarming movie, and it’s definitely another addition to my catalog of great sci-fi space films.

This movie was full of wonder, fun, and imagination. It was actually based on the 2021 hard science fiction novel by Andy Weir. I love how this movie flows through the story, going between flashbacks of the past and then to the present tense.

Now, I don’t want to spoil anything here, but I will just say that the relationship made in this movie is pretty heartwarming. From being alone to having someone with the same goal as you is always awesome, and this movie does that dynamic very well!

I would say Project Hail Mary feels like its own “thing” too, not a match to Interstellar, or other space movies. It just has its own feel to it. You get jumped right into the chaos and theme of what this is going to be from the first second.

Overall, I loved this film. I would say it is one of the best space movies I have seen in a long while now. It’s currently $19.99 on Prime Video(not sponsored), which is a bit pricey but worth it, I would say, for a good movie night that you will not regret!
